A Woman's Mom Teased Her Husband for Five Years for Any Apparent Reason – Then, Over Sunday Dinner, He Finally Said, 'Tell Your Daughter the Truth, or I Will'

“I’m the only one here thinking about your future!”

And she really was thinking. But there was something she didn’t tell me.

She left. The folder stayed on the table.

“Get out, Mom.”

That night, Wade sat on the edge of our bed. He looked upset.

"No man will tolerate the humiliation of his dignity."

My mother was ruining my marriage. And my husband was affecting my relationship with my mother. Great.

My stomach dropped. “I’ll set boundaries. I promise.”

I called my mom and asked for an apology.

“I won't apologize. Sooner or later, you'll realize that I'm right.” she said.

My mother was ruining my marriage.

I hung up.

Four days later, Wade surprised me.

“Invite your mother over for Sunday dinner.”

I stared at him. “You can barely stand each other.”

“I want to settle this before the baby comes.”

On Sunday the kitchen smelled like garlic and roasted chicken. He’d even baked her favorite lemon pie.
