That is the extraordinary power of music.
Dolly Parton's legacy
Dolly once said she wanted to be remembered as someone who took her work seriously but didn't take herself too seriously.
That may be one of the most fitting descriptions of her life.
She worked extraordinarily hard.
She built a massive entertainment empire.
She became a global music star.
She created one of the world's most recognizable theme parks.
She wrote thousands of songs.
She helped millions of children access books.
And through it all, she retained a sense of humor and humility.
Her death marks the end of an extraordinary life, but it does not mark the end of Dolly Parton.
Her songs will continue to be recorded.
Her films will continue to be watched.
Dollywood will continue welcoming families.
Her books will continue arriving in children's homes.
And her stories will continue being passed from one generation to another.
