This wasn’t an accidental seating arrangement.
They’d planned to humiliate me.
And Sam had allowed it.
I looked at the waiter.
“Please bring out both cakes. Together.”
Minutes later, the lights dimmed.
The waiter rolled the trolley into the dining room.
Patricia clapped excitedly.
Vanessa stood beside her, grinning.
“Surprise!” Patricia announced.
But before she could continue, I walked toward them.
“Actually, I have a surprise too.”
I stepped behind the two women.
Placed one hand firmly on Patricia’s head.
The other on Vanessa’s.
And in one swift motion, I pushed both their faces into the two cakes.
The room erupted in screams.
Frosting covered their hair and dresses.
Sam jumped to his feet.
“Have you lost your mind?!”
I stepped back.
“No. But I think it’s time everyone heard what your mother told me yesterday.”
Patricia froze.
Even beneath the frosting, I could see the panic in her eyes.
