A Man Drove His Best Friend’s Daughter to Ballet Three Times a Week – Then Her Teacher Asked the Girl’s Mother a Question That Made Her Blood Run Cold

Derek rubbed his forehead.

“Mia worked just as hard. She came home crushed, while Audrey got everything.”

He looked toward the floor.

“Every time Audrey came home talking about that program, all I could think about was Mia crying after her rejection.”

“So you punished Audrey?” Laura asked.

“I didn’t punish anybody.”

“I trusted you with my daughter.”

“You lied to her until she was afraid to dance,” Scott said. “You made her miss weeks of classes.”

Derek looked at his oldest friend.

“I thought you’d understand.”

Scott shook his head.

“I trusted you with my daughter.”

“And you made her afraid to talk to us,” Scott added.

“You’re apologizing to her. Now.”

Laura stood.

“You’re apologizing to her. Now.”

Derek looked at Audrey.

“I’m sorry.”

“For what?” she asked.

He swallowed.

Audrey didn’t accept his apology.

“For lying. For making you doubt yourself.”
